  26. Today’s small moment —

    A breathtaking March visit (a couple years ago) to Mabry Mill (on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia), seeing it in winter light when the trees were bare and the landscape stripped down to its quiet essentials.

    Without leaves or lush greenery, the mill, water, and surrounding hills felt even more striking—reflections perfectly mirrored, colors softened, and light doing all the work.

    It was exhilarating to witness how stunning this place can be in its quieter season, reminding me that beauty doesn’t depend on abundance.
