At no point did they blame those rules, they just said how tragic it was he was separated from his family and exiled, but maybe he shouldn't have been a naughty boy in the 90s, serves him right actually. Don't break the rules (unless you're rich, then go to town)

The Dems were in charge when MF Doom was banned from the country he had lived in all his life. Separated from his wife and kids but 'rules are rules' (especially if you're not a White Man)

For MF Doom fans out there. -
Just to piggyback and expand upon my last post of Madvillain.
I mentioned that about 3 years ago, I took my then 13 year old son (and three of his friends) to #seattle to see one of their favorite bands, Half Alive.
As a fun side-field trip, I took them to the #mopop Museum as well.
There was a lot of cool things there, including a Nirvana exhibit that was very emotional for me, a super-rad horror and sci-fi exhibit, and what ended up being my son’s FAVORITE; the #HipHop exhibit.
He got an expansive education that day, including an introduction to #mfdoom and #madvillain .Below are pictures of what my son saw: Doom’s iconic mask in a display case, as well as b-roll and alternate shots from that same session from where that now iconic photograph was taken.
I’d never seen my son’s eyes light up like that before, or heard him ask so many questions about a particular music figure like that before.
He also saw Biggie’s hat and suit, as well as some Beasties stuff.

2021 U.S. 2xLP reissueFather/son music day today, and this was my boy’s request while we do some work around the house.
This is my son’s newest obsession. It’s an album he’s been playing A LOT over the last month, and he was unaware that I had it on vinyl.
Which leads me to believe it will disappear from my collection and end up in his VERY SOON.
It’s an absolute masterpiece album; a modern #abstract #HipHop clinic with NO SKIPS, courtesy of the late great MF DOOM and Madlib.
Glad that my son has finally started to sink his teeth (and mind) into it.
A few years ago, I took him and a few of his friends to the MOPOP Museum in Seattle, where they had the mask on display in a glass case inside the hiphop exhibit. He had no idea what it was, who Doom was, and was instantly mystified.
