[Request] What is the optimum shape and weight of an object to be thrown the furthest/fastest by a human?
Assuming it has to be thrown by a human hand and not some sort of sling or something, here are a few records (all the distances are approximate):
Football: 240 feet
Hammer throw: 285 feet
Javelin: 340 feet
Baseball: 445 feet
Frisbee: 1100 feet
Boomerang: 1400 feetthis fits in with your findings.
The official furthest-thrown bread product in a structured competition is a Dorset Knob—a hard, twice-baked bread roll—which reached a record distance of 32.05 meters (105 feet 2 inches).

i also pictured 4 individual eyes, till i noticed all his double meanings.
a friend at school told me about it, but i didn't try it.
the covers put me off, and i thought it would be too fantasy and geeky.
his name didn't help.
it was 20 years later that someone gave me a book, and i was hooked.
i now return the favor and give people his books where i can.
