It was true about the time measurement as well. The Tezumen had realized long ago that everything was steadily getting worse and, having a terrible little-mindedness, had developed a complex system to keep track of how much worse each succeeding day was.

- "America?" said Mrs Liberty. "Won't we get scalped?"
- "Good grief, no!" said William Stickers, who was a bit more up to date about the world.
- "*Probably* not," said Mr Fletcher, who had been watching the news lately and was even more up to date than William Stickers.Still looking for a good place to party

Cats don't hunt seals. They would if they knew what they were and where to find them. But they don't, so that's all right.

The one positive thing you could say about the bread products around him was that they were probably as edible now as they were on the day they were baked. *Forged* was a better term. Dwarf bread was made as a meal of last resort and also as a weapon and a currency. Dwarfs were not, as far as Vimes knew, religious in any way, but the way they thought about bread came close.

Suffice to say, it’s a wonderful book and you should all absolutely go buy it.

The whole thing is covered in notes from various characters- Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, Rob Anybody etc, as well as the occasional correction from Lettice Earwig.
This is one of my favourites, in the section on Underwear.
[Nanny Ogg] Bloomers can provide a very useful storage for buffet items. Just remember to remove them before… more intimate encounters. An avalanche of prawn vol-au-vents can really ruin a mood.
[Granny Weatherwax] Ruined mine just reading that. -
Love this of Nanny Ogg and Granny Aching looks exactly how she does in my head.

"The horses were quietly cropping the rich grass by the stream. Yellow butterflies skittered among the bushes. There was a smell of thyme and a buzzing of bees. The wild pigs on the spit sizzled gently. Hrun shrugged and went back to oiling his biceps. They gleamed."
