Testing #memo #compiler and #virtualmachine on #openbsd has allowed me to find more bugs. Now it compiles and runs happily both on linux and openbsd.

I continue working on #memo #compiler and #virtualmachine. After a couple of weeks of cleaning, reorganizing and bug fixing I'm ready to continue with the next feature. Time to pick one from the list.

I've achieved a milestone: #memo #compiler and #virtualmachine can compile and run a factorial calculation program.

I've got if-else working in #memo #compiler. It still generates assembly for the memovm , but now the emulator translates it to a binary format before interpreting it. It was the easiest way I've found to resolve label positions and jump through code. Next: implement the wasm codegen too.

"Not" in #memo language is for now translated to a comparison (EQU) to false in #memovm.

#memo compiler now has types (int and bool) and comparisons. Now, time for tidying the messy code I've written and add some tests. I also have to implement "not", "mod" and "and", which I wrote in the grammar document but haven't implemented yet.

I really should use branches. I've commited broken and incomplete code to the repository's main branch. I hope to fix it in the next days. But definitively, the next feature for #memo will be developed in a separated branch.

I'm writing a compiler! In fact, a whole computer system. I have no idea of what I'm doing and I'm just starting to do it, but I'm having lots of fun. This is my living frog. :)
