And here's the result of those 4 years of my #maysketchaday challenges!
2018 to 2021, 110 pictures and a lot of progress and experimentation! ☺️ -
2021 was a nice attempt at #maysketchaday unfortunately I couldn't complete it. I already felt strained, and it was a first sign of what led me to burnout in 2022. But that's another story 😅
-
For a few days I also studied the towers of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and I hope to see them for real 😁
-
It's Germany! Fun fact, I was still living in Paris and wasn't planning to move back here at that time 🤣
I still studied different lights at different time of the day.
-
Dinosaur plushies are back on the ground!
But where did they land? 😁 -
It was a journey, so I also got to draw daylight landscapes!
-
New week, it's June and I will finish this 🧵 about #maysketchaday (while I'm moving out 🤣).
-
Sometimes dawn's colors look just like sunset!
-
Dawn was really nice to study, those beautiful colors 🤩
-
It was also a way to study how light works, depending of the time of the day, for another project.
I started with dawn 🌅 -
New week, last thread about #maysketchaday !
In 2021, my last attempt at this challenge, I got back to studies... With a twist 😁
The characters from my game Pingouin & Raptor went on an adventure 😃

2020 #maysketchaday was a very good year, it helped me clarifying what I had in mind, and I had fun! 🥳
I named the last one: "After the party" -
It led to other buildings sketches of what would later be my Tiny Town project:

😃 -
I pushed some of them to get a better idea of the ambiance I was looking for 🏡
-
Then I really made a lot of sketches of aircrafts and houses for this project!
It was indeed #maysketchaday this time 😁 -
I combined digital studies of landscapes with the themes I wanted to explore, here aircrafts!
-
#maysketchaday 2020!
Of course we had hard lock-downs, and to forget about it, I focused myself 100% on my work and training.
That year I decided to build the world for a new game. -
Yeah 2019 was very serious indeed. Not as fun as 2018, but a very good training session!
-
Or just quick studies, with different brushes ⛰️
-
I also tried different styles, simpler, flat colors, etc.
-
Then I got back to quick studies and training. May 2019 was a serious time!
-
New week, here's how I started #maysketchaday in 2019... I was waaaaay too ambitious 🤣
-
Last picture from the 2018 challenge.
I really liked how it turned out, it was a good ending piece ☺️ -
This one took probably more than a day 😅
-
Of course at this point, it didn't look like sketches anymore 😅
-
And somehow during those experiments, I found a style that I really like!
-
I also tried to find new styles and ways to render natural elements 🌿🌱
-
And for some I made a second version with some add-ons!
-
First, I used #maysketchaday as a way to learn and study different topics! So I made a series of clouds ☁️
-
New month, new thread!
This time let me talk about what used to be my favorite challenge: #maysketchadayI discovered this challenge in 2018 and this is the first picture I made!
