  1. Mayfair Witches Season 2 must be magic since it feels better than the first, yet it’s still missing the magic. 🧙‍♀️✨ Tight pacing, sharper visuals, but where’s the character depth?

  2. It's such a blast from the past to watch the new Mayfair Witches series. I read the books while a teenager, and seeing the characters come to life is quite trippy.

I do wish they had shown Lasher a bit differently, though. #tvseries #mayfairwitches #thewitchinghour

  3. It’s back! And I finally got to it. Season 2 of #MayfairWitches starts strong with seemingly better writing. Is this the redemption we’ve been waiting for?

  5. "Superstore" alum Ben Feldman is joining Season 2 of AMC's "Anne Rice's The Mayfair Witches" as Sam 'Lark' Larkin, a successful CEO of a genetics startup and Rowan’s (Alexandra Daddario) former boyfriend who has re-entered her life.

  6. CW: Might be a spoiler for some. Feedback re: Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches episodes 1 and 2

My only comment is, why do they have to explain why the characters did this and felt that after every episode? What happened to “show, don't tell”?

Yes, one can choose not to watch the “Episode Insider” segment, but they included it, so it's part of the deal. Since it's part of the deal, then one can react to it, too.

Explaining what happened in each episode is a hint that they were not satisfied with their own work. That they failed with “show, don't tell”. Episode explanations/recaps should be left with the fans. It is for us fans to unlock and understand what the writers had in mind. That is one factor why it is fun to read/watch fiction. A writer explaining each episode takes the fun away.

Instead of explaining each episode, if the “Episode Insider” is really that important, then talk about the behind-the-scenes (“BTS”). What happened during filming? Since it is an adaptation of #AnneRice's work, then share the challenges you faced in translating a #book / #novel into an episode. Those are cool topics to discuss in an “Episode Insider”, by the name itself, “insider”.

If I take a guess, they felt each episode was too short, so it didn't quite capture what they have in mind, so that “insider” became an “explained” segment. If so, then share information which were not included in the episode but are in the book. It's understandable that it is not an easy task to translate a novel into a live-action series, you do have to remove a lot of materials.

Other than that, the first two episodes hooked me. Still a great job, considering the limited number of episodes in Season 1. Imagine fitting Book 1 in only 8 episodes.
