@carkner @Anneheathen I started with TAZ and MBMBAM, then moved onto the Flop House and the Uxbridge-Shimoda family of podcasts. (A bit weird not to see them on my Maxfun show list any more). Anyway, yeah, what Anne said: support #MaximumFun during the #MaxFunDrive and, well, any time really - they are a little slice of good in the world.

As you may be able to tell by the name of the instance my account sits on, I'm a big fan of #greatesttrek and right now it's the big subscription push for #MaxFunDrive If you, too, are an FoD and you don't yet subscribe then I really strongly recommend that you jump on at the five dollar level - the bonus content you get is actually the best of all the rewards. I'll admit it, I listen to a lot of podcasts.
As a business landscape, podcasting (like all media landscapes, I suppose), is a bleak and hateful attention economy devaluing creators and busy hoisting itself on its own advertising petard.
BUT! there are bright spots, one being the #MaximumFun network, a worker-owned, listener supported co-op encompassing a lot of very good artist owned podcasts.

Most #MaxFunDrive stuff is over on the dead bird website, but this year I’m a proud supporter. @maxfunhq has some of the best podcasts out there, and all listener supported. I think like 80-90% of my weekly podcasts come from them.

We got the final results in from #maxfundrive today and it turned out great after a big final weekend!
A sincere thank you to all the #FriendsOfDeSoto who pitched in this year. Your support really does make it all possible and I'm so grateful to work with Ben and Adam on the shows. It's a weird and hilarious job but I love it and I'm looking forward to what's ahead! 😍
