As of 3:30 pm HST on Saturday, August 26th, #MauiCounty Officials have permitted #Maui Humane Society to access the #LahainaFire burn zone in a coordinated search and rescue effort to find live #animals.
Animal Search And Rescue (ASAR) & Animal Incident Management & Greater Good Charities trapping team will join MHS who will be escorted into the impacted areas.

367 animals are reported missing
Animal Search & Rescue found 52 animals alive so far in the Lahaina area. 12 were / are injured, 8 reunited.
In addition to the Humane Society in Puunene, two vet triage centers are set up.
300 cats/dogs up for adoption (no fire victims) are being prepared for transport to the mainland.
