For #poetry lovers: On the surface, naivety and profundity seem to be mutually exclusive but actually they are not (simple example: many questions by children). This could be one reason for why people (including me) like the work of poets such as Emily Dickinson or Mascha Kaleko: their poems are somehow naive, accessible in language and form, but they evoke profound truths beyond what is said directly. So their poems resolve the apparent tension of naivety and profundity, they are immediately understood with a satisfying pop of recognition in the head of the reader.
As illustration a re-creation in English of one of Kaleko's shortest poems:
The night, while home
to death and fright,
makes also moon
and stars shine bright.
