His shirt is stitched together to not flap open the way it normally does when someone moves around. I can't decide whether I think it's a style choice or self-censorship (Chinese censorship is basically as prudish as an US pentecostal pastor on speed). A little bit of both, I guess. Now I can't unsee it! I'll look for these closing stitches in every c-drama henceforth...
