«Marie» se convierte en Huracán categoría 1; suspensión de clases en Los Cabos y Ciudad Constitución
El huracán Marie, categoría 1, se fortaleció en el Pacífico frente a México. Baja California Sur suspendió clases este jueves 3 de septiembre en Los Cabos y Ciudad Constitución ante lluvias, oleaje e inundaciones.

El huracán Marie alcanzó la categoría 1 en el océano Pacífico y sus efectos llevaron a autoridades de Baja California Sur a suspender las clases este jueves 3 de septiembre en todos los niveles educativos de Los Cabos y Ciudad Constitución.
La medida fue acordada por el Consejo Estatal de Protección Civil ante las lluvias registradas en la entidad y el pronóstico de nuevas precipitaciones, además de las condiciones de viento y oleaje asociadas con el ciclón.
Durante las últimas horas, usuarios de redes sociales difundieron imágenes de inundaciones y encharcamientos provocados por las lluvias, mientras las autoridades mantienen vigilancia sobre las condiciones meteorológicas en la entidad.
Marie se convierte en huracán categoría 1
El Centro Nacional de Huracanes de Estados Unidos (NHC) informó que Marie evolucionó de tormenta tropical a huracán categoría 1 mientras avanzaba sobre aguas del Pacífico, frente al suroeste de México.
El fenómeno meteorológico se desplazaba sobre aguas abiertas, sin que la trayectoria prevista implicara un impacto directo sobre las costas mexicanas. Sin embargo, su circulación generaba condiciones adversas en zonas de Baja California Sur y otros estados del occidente del país.
El oleaje generado por Marie también representaba un riesgo para actividades marítimas y zonas costeras de la península de Baja California Sur.
Suspenden clases en Los Cabos y Ciudad Constitución
El Consejo Estatal de Protección Civil de Baja California Sur determinó suspender las labores educativas este jueves 3 de septiembre en Los Cabos y Ciudad Constitución, en ambos turnos y todos los niveles escolares.
La decisión fue tomada como medida preventiva ante las condiciones generadas por las lluvias y las dificultades que podrían presentarse para el traslado de estudiantes y personal educativo hacia los planteles.
En el resto de Baja California Sur las actividades escolares continuarían de manera normal, de acuerdo con la determinación adoptada por las autoridades estatales.
Lluvias dejan inundaciones y encharcamientos
Las precipitaciones asociadas con Marie provocaron durante este miércoles acumulación de agua en distintos puntos de Baja California Sur.
Las condiciones meteorológicas mantienen especial atención sobre Los Cabos, donde las autoridades de Protección Civil vigilan posibles corridas de agua, inundaciones y afectaciones en vialidades.
La población fue llamada a mantenerse atenta a los avisos oficiales y evitar zonas susceptibles a inundaciones, cauces de arroyos y áreas donde el oleaje represente un riesgo.
¿Cuántos ciclones se esperan en el Pacífico durante 2026?
Para la temporada de ciclones tropicales de 2026, México prevé entre 18 y 21 sistemas con nombre en el Pacífico, de los cuales entre cuatro y cinco podrían alcanzar las categorías 3, 4 o 5 en la escala Saffir-Simpson.
El Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) anticipó una temporada con mayor actividad ciclónica en el Pacífico que en el Atlántico, en un contexto influido por el fenómeno de El Niño. –sn–
