Als Extradienst-Leser*in wissen Sie, dass der Grossmacht gewordene Zwergstaat Vereinigte Arabische Emirate hier mehr Aufmerksamkeit bekommt, als in der Mehrheit deutschsprachiger Massenmedien. Anders als die haben wir Zeit und Platz. Der Mr. Zayid Al Nahyan muss sich um fast alles kümmern – so ist das in einem Feudalstaat – und das hat ihn mächtig, mächtig reich und mächtig humorlos gemacht. Der Arme.

Wenig zum Lachen ist ihm zumute, wenn die Rede auf seinen grossen Rivalen محمد بن سلمان بن عبد العزيز آل سعود, den Boss von Saudi-Arabien kommt. Beim gemeinsam betriebenen Völkermord im Jemen haben sich die beiden überworfen. MBZ betreibt im Jemen, im Sudan und in Libyen eigene Lieblingsmilizen, weil er von MBS die Nase voll hat.

Ebenso wenig amüsiert ist er über seinen Vizepräsidenten, den Chef von Dubai, محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم (Muhammad bin Rāschid Āl Maktūm), den er 2008 aus einer Staatspleite rauspauken musste, und der auch sonst mit seinen Frauen und Töchtern geschäftsschädigende Schlagzeilen produzierte.

Nicht nur an den Orten seiner Völkermorde hinterlässt MBZ tiefe Spuren. Auch – warum wundert mich das nicht? – im Agrarhaushalt der EU. Es versteht sich von selbst, dass das Lobbyorgan deutscher Agrarindustrie, zu dessen grossen Anteilseignern der Bayerische Bauernverband, das “Landvolk” sowie die Landwirtschaftskammer Niedersachsen und der Waldbesitzerverband Niedersachsen zählen, betonen muss, wie “legal” das Treiben der EU mit MBZ ist.

Demütigend der aktuelle Verlauf des Fussballinvestments: dieser englische VAR-Vorgang kann von seiner Exzellenz nur als klar adressierte Aggression verstanden werden. Dieser Oligarch wird seiner Exzellenz vorgezogen. Ist das tolerabel?

Was ich dennoch bis heute nicht wusste, ist ein heisses Detail aus der Benko-Pleite. Wurde sie nicht auf dem Medienboulevard rauf und runter ausgelutscht. Warum werden so viele Gläubiger*innen in die Röhre gucken? Von den “freigesetzten” tausenden Lohnabhängigen ganz zu schweigen. Weil sich der dickste Fisch schon gütlich getan hat. Er hat halt die teuersten Anwaltsarmeen (ob er dafür auch Frauen nimmt? Keine Ahnung).

Das fehlte ja gerade noch: sich als Emir der VAE von so einem korrupten europäischen Zwergstaat langmachen zu lassen! Nicht auszudenken: wer sich von diesen Provinzdeppen – oder von diesen (“Neue Grenzüberschreitungen”) – verarschen liesse, würde sich unter den Superreichen der Welt unmöglich machen.
