so I was reading in twitter about what it might mean to “hack the conference,” that is, do the messy work of making conferences accessible when organizers won’t.
I’m chairing 2 panels at #nemla 2023, in about a month, and I’m doing them DIY-hybrid. Hooking up my laptop and zooming people in, despite institutional decisions not to be hybrid-accessible.

@HoernchenCecile Das erinnert mich an meine Hochschule. Dort wurde in einem neuen(!) Gebäude der Aufzug so eingebaut, dass er nicht direkt vom Eingang aus erreichbar ist, da dazwischen ein halbes Stockwerk Versatz ist. Also muss ich mich immer im Eingangsbereich mit einem mülligen Treppenlifter herumschlagen damit ich danach mit dem Aufzug weiterfahren kann 🤦. Manchmal würde ich gerne Architekt*innen verklagen. #MakeItAccessibleOrBurnItDown
