It's taken many years, but I've gotten my wife to use the word "#Mandarin" (#華語) in place of "#Chinese" (#中文) and to stop saying "#mainland" (#大陸)… most of the time. Teach by example. 😄

There’s a nice walk on the west from Cowes, and indeed around the whole island (that’s around 110 km long). From this part you can see the #Mainland. Here, once again, is #Portsmouth with the #SpinakerTower visible. Even over a distance of something like 10-15 km, note that the base of the tower can’t be seen as it’s over the horizon (yes folks, the Earth is round!).

Meanwhile over on Corsica continent, CK and I were figuring out a turnoff to my new home for hikers to visit.
Being able to dabble in advance has been very helpful.
