  1. The story doesn't end with the demise of a mass shooter, or finding his apparent motivation in killing many innocent people. It ends when we prevent others like him from obtaining instruments of destruction. #MaineShooting #GunLegislation #VoteTheGOPOut

  2. There is no mental healthcare in this country thanks to former President Ronald Reagan. His legacy continues…#MaineShooting

  3. #Musk bought #Twitter 1 year ago today.

From Tim Chambers: "The…year’s worth of changes to #X were…stress tested during the global news…last week [from #Israel & #Gaza]…In the eyes of many, myself included, it failed utterly.”

True, & there are a year's worth of other examples.

    I live in #Maine & have a front-row seat to this one:

Numerous verified X accounts are claiming that the Maine mass shootings were a 'false flag'

  4. Maine is a permitless concealed carry state, and I've read it has the second highest rate of gun ownership in the country. Yet apparently not a single good guy with a gun was around to stop Martin Card during his mass shooting.

I'm sure gun rights advocates will argue the only conclusion to be drawn is they need more guns in Maine.

  5. “I am embarrassed to say that this is what it took—a place I love to become somewhere that a uniquely American tragedy has taken place—for me to fully understand our country’s mass-shooting problem.”

  6. @j … you might be right. He was probably kicked out of that neo-nazi village because of the negative publicity. Couldn’t go to Quebéc or New Brunswick, can’t go to New Hampshire either. That bastard is cornered. The only exit is death. #massshooting #Maine #MaineShooting #gunviolence #Lewiston #ME

  7. @stux My dad is a gun collector, so I've been around "2A absolutists" all my life. What most people don't understand is that expecting these people to give up the #2A is like expecting people like me to willingly give up the 1A.

But both the #1A and the #2A can have restrictions. Rapidfire assault weapons IMHO are no different than yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater (endangering many innocent people in an instant.) There IS a solution: #TaxGunpowder #TaxCordite #MaineShooting

Senate Voted to Let Vets With Mental Issues Keep Guns Hours Before #MaineShooting

Five senators who caucus with #Democrats joined #Republicans in voting to adopt the amendment

"#AngusKing, an Independent who represents #Maine, also voted to adopt it. So did #SusanCollins, the long-serving Maine Republican. Neither senator’s office immediately responded to requests for comment about the vote."

  14. As I've said here, and for many years on the former Twitter, there is no solution to mass shootings except *strict* gun regulation. Until then we will continue to live as human targets, courtesy of the GOP. #maineshooting

  15. The NutJob who killed 22 and injured as many as 60 more in #MaineShooting with a (once again) "AR-style assault weapon", a scope & target light, no body armor and not trying to hide his face, went on a 3-location rampage last night. Unless he was a perfect shot, he MUST have fired AT LEAST 250 rounds.

I've been arguing FOR YEARS that the best way to reduce gun deaths is to #TaxGunpowder/ #TaxCordite ($100/bullet minimum) which would have cost him at least $25,000. COMPLETELY CONSTITUTIONAL.

  16. #maineshooting #gunviolence #armscontrol #usa #america #guns #weapons A tragedy beyond words, but is anyone surprised? America clearly thinks it’s a price worth paying to keep their fabled and precious second amendment.
If America really cared, it would take serious action on gun ownership. People need action rather than rhetoric.
