I like a magic system with no inherent 'per day' or 'points' rate limiters. Except actually using magic invites calamity and ruin upon mortals. Casting a spell causes problems in the world nearby.
Problems that... (pause for effect...) the characters don't receive experience for resolving!

Watched *The Stories of Girls Who Couldn't Be Magicians* today, and while the last episode isn't out yet it was v cute so far! The art style is unique and the story is cute :meowlove:
I do love the creative worldbuilding and magic system too!
Often I find that taking each anime for what it is can be the best to way enjoy them, and that's certainly true here. This anime reminds me a bit of Little Witch Academia :akko_hi:
And the OP is cool too! 🎵🎶
I should have watched this anime weeks ago.

Some RPGs treat magic as a science, others treat them as superpowers.
That's not what I'm doing.
I saw superstitions like "If you carry a coffin through a doorway backward, the body becomes a vampire," or "If you whistle at night, you summon a demon," and went straight for that as my magic system.
All the explanations are there, but each one leads you to more questions.

This is a great inspiration for more folklore-esque magic.

I've been reading bits of the D6 game systems and thinking about running an Urban Fantasy (basically Urban Arcana) with it. I like the Mini Six rules the most right now since it simplifies a lot of the system, but if I kind of like the Magic System presented in D6 Adventure with the complicated framework for building new spells.
I'll have to let it roll around in my head more.

@JasonT Funny enough, the thing i keep trying to find an interesting way to do is an only-cantrips D&D. Where magic can only be accomplished through:
* Cantrips (except direct damage ones)
* Magic items
* Elaborate rituals requiring a lot of materials, time, and other prerequisites. -

Day 24: "Are there magic powers in your World?"
Oh yeah. Most wildlife and some livestock have some kind of psychic power. Almost all people have a little psychic something-or-other.
The land and sea and sky of the Worlds are all inherently magical.
The Stars impart celestial magic and wisdom upon those who pray to them. Darker forces whisper temptation to those who seek power.
