Auf dem #klimacamp konnte ich das Thema #emailprivacytest nur kurz ansprechen, deshalb steht jetzt ein ausführlicher Beitrag in unserem #lugbz Forum.

Neben mehr Sicherheit ist mir der Einfluss der #Bigtech auf das Klima wichtig.
Die Vorstellung von Ressourcenverschwendung bei Datenauswertungen auf Servern, die durch #Tracking Links gespeist werden, welche Nutzer unbemerkt auslösen, wenn sie unsichere Programme oder Methoden verwenden, ist der Grund, warum ich solche Artikel schreibe.
Weil raus aus den unsozialen Medien für viele zunächst unvorstellbar ist, kann man die BigTech auf diese Art weniger füttern, die nur Vorteile hat.

Teil einer Diskussion am #klimacamp, wo wir vom #LUGBZ zu #endof10, #linux, #freieSoftware die letzten 3 Tage für die Teilnehmer zur Verfügung standen:
T: Ist Linux wie Windows?
A: Du meinst, dass beide Betriebssysteme sind? Ja
T: Ich meine ob sie den gleichen Zweck erfüllen, das gleiche Ziel haben, ist das nicht so?
A: Die Ziele können unterschiedlicher nicht sein. Microsoft will mit Windows Geld verdienen. Deshalb halten sie die Nutzer dumm, der Quellcode ist geheim, sie betreiben viel Aufwand um das Raubkopieren zu verhindern, saugen ungefragt Daten ab und erschweren einen Wechsel weg von Microsoft. Linux ist Freie Software, der Quellcode ist öffentlich, Programmierer können die Programme verbessern, erweitern, deshalb sind Datenräubereien nicht zu erwarten, weil sie bald bemerkt werden. Dasselbe gilt für Fehler. Als Nutzer hat man viel Auswahl bei der Oberfläche und auch viele Einstellmöglichkeiten, was besonders die unerfahrenen Nutzer heraus fordert.
T: Aber dann muss man sich ja ganz neu einlernen, wenn alles anders ist.
A: Viele Programme, die man unter Windows nutzt sind auch Freie Software, wie Firefox, Thunderbird, vlc, audacity, libreoffice, .... Wer nur Anwender ist und solche Programme nutzt merkt kaum eine Unterschied.
T: Dann bin ich ja beruhigt, ich bin ein reiner Anwender.
