  1. I’ve spent part of my vacation planning my talk on local food resilience using native food crops, while also getting headlines of Hormuz closing again and oil prices going up.

Folks: look on Craigslist for cheap used commercial solar panels and a decent bike. Look around for rain barrels. Think about gardening. Plant potatoes, sweet potatoes, and root veggies.

And then go talk to your neighbors because we only get through this together.

  3. …Adam 3/n:

“The answer I keep coming up with — and maybe, if you’re here, that’s your answer too — is… speaking from experience, I at least don’t think the state is terribly likely to be there for us, in the way we need it, in this time of #longEmergency.

And that leaves us, and whatever care and shelter and power we’re able to make for ourselves, together.”

  5. CW: Long thread/eof

@pluralistic a good article. And we certainly should consistently make the case for egalitarian governance.

But in the context of us being close to or possibly past the permanent downslope of the carbon pulse – the #longEmergency – I find @adamgreenfield’s framing of where we are and what we do about it persuasive, encapsulated in the phrase

“we are the ones we’ve been waiting for”
