Abstracts as well as slides for most of the talks are available through the 's schedule page: lpc.events/event/18/timetable/

  2. Anyone at #LinuxPlumbers2024 with a Garmin charge cable I can borrow for an hour? Forgot mine at home 😞

  3. Made it to Vienna for Linux Kernel Maintainers Summit and . 🙂

If you see me around and want to talk to me, don't hesitate and just start a conversation with your favourite greeting of choice. 👍

  4. I've got a new batch of stickers! Same deal as last time: if you see me at or this month and tell me what you like about systemd (community, features, anything really) I'll give you a sticker!

  5. Mental preparation for Maintainers Summit and :

✅ Relax brain by performing an (OCR) right before the conference week[1], just like it did the last time before I visited those conferences.

[1] this was at Northern Germany 2024 yesterday; the timing was just a coincidence, it's OCR season currently here: this was my third ORC within the past six weeks; and I miss a fourth, which is the nicest one, due to the conferences. 🫤

  6. My plan for next Monday: travel from to for Maintainers Summit and by train.

The weather's plan for the next few days for Vienna and its surroundings (including the rest of Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, and some areas of Germany): never ending rain.

So I fear something like the below will happen. 🥴

    !

  7. 6.11 will be released this Sunday, unless any show-stopper issues pop up; that means that the first week of the 6.12 merge window will overlap with the Maintainers Summit and @linuxplumbersconf:

  8. Is there anything you would like to ask the Foundation's TAB (Technical Advisory Board)?

Then come to the "ask us anything" session with the current TAB at the @linuxplumbersconf 2024, which is currently scheduled for 9:00 on Friday, September 20[1].

And if you can't be there, just tell me your questions: I'll try to bring a few of them forward if I get a chance.

  9. Registration for @linuxplumbersconf reopened

'"This year there was a huge demand to attend Conference in person and at last we were able to add more places and reopen the registration."'

  10. It is my pleasure to announce that my submission for Kernel Memory Management MC has been accepted. Prepare for 15 minutes of some serious ranting about the zoned buddy allocator.

Because it truly sucks for device drivers. 🤓

EDIT: High time to enroll on the attendee wait list, I guess.

  11. @vbabka Napping? Never mind, I have realized the best way to find out is to submit my abstract.

Towards Better Memory Allocation for Device Drivers. Registered with the number #219.

  12. Looking at and wondering: Should I submit a paper for the Memory Management MC on replacing zones with something better suited to allocate DMA-able memory? Should I submit a paper for the Confidential Computing MC on improving I/O with dynamic SWIOTLB? Or should I submit a paper for the Kernel Testing MC on suggested changes to User-Mode Linux to improve KUnit usability?

    What shall I do, dear @linuxplumbersconf ?

  13. "'We’re happy to announce that registration for @linuxplumbersconf 2024 is now open. […]

To try to prevent the instant sellout we had in previous years we are keeping our cancellation policy of no refunds, only transfers of registrations. You will find more details during the registration process. […]

As usual we expect to sell our rather quickly so don’t delay your registration for too long!'"
