Over the bank holiday we visited Chambéry and took the opportunity to hike to Le Grand Roc (1814 m).

After a first steep climb it flattened out a bit before we had to do some scrambling, which led to steep grassy slope (not recommended it wet conditions). Coming onto the ridge the beautiful panorama opened up.

Star of the panorama was the Mont Blanc which presented itself in perfect conditions. But all around the views were fantastic. The colors were deep, which you can expect in spring and flowers were all around (so were the flies and bugs).

Only a few people around and we had the summit to ourselves. We took the time to enjoy the views before descending to a farm where they sold very cold drinks. The last 5 kilometers were a bit boring down to the car, but overall a super day in the mountains.
