  1. Smashing Magazine: Designing Better UX For Left-Handed People. “Today, roughly 10% of people are left-handed. Yet most products — digital and physical — aren’t designed with it in mind. Let’s change that. More design patterns in Smart Interface Design Patterns, a friendly video course on UX and design patterns by Vitaly.”

  2. A designer coffee cup at an event with a curved handle. Because fuck left-handed people, that‘s why!

At least the coffee is good!

  3. CW: Left-handedness, school abuse

I only just barely remember being at school (before my mother pulled me out of that shit), and aside from teachers enabling bullying, talking over me, screaming at me, dragging me around the classroom and ripping my clothes, or just hitting me, one thing they also did before any of that was try forcing me to be strictly right-handed. It didn't take. But some form of ambidexterity did develop. It's weird. I can only write and draw with my left hand. But when it came to sports I would, for example, play tennis with my right hand, pool with my left, and soccer with both feet (though that was more my dad's encouragement - and I initially favoured my right foot by far!) #LeftHanded #LeftHandedness #lefty #leftist

Stop it.

  5. @adb That‘s the one. 😆 I think there are also the ones with narrow handles, but I can‘t seem to find them online at a shop in the EU.
Ah well. They seem to be really good quality, so the price seems right.

  6. @[email protected] OMG! I did not know that!! Oh man, I really want these boots now. But yeah, pricey. And there’s nowhere I can try them on before buying. 😩

  7. Looking for pruning scissors for lefties is frustrating. :blobbonecry: I don‘t want big clunky „regular“ garden scissors. But small narrow pointy ones. There are tons of brands and models, but only for righties. Why? Don‘t lefties want to prune their plants? Of course we do!
Give us good quality lefty scissors and we‘re going to throw our money at you!
So I will probably buy the
only pair I found, which is a Japanese model made for bonsai work. It‘s expensive, but it‘s my birthday month. So 💸💸💸 🥳

There‘s so much useless crap for lefties available. Useless. Crap. But good useful stuff is almost impossible to find.

BTW, I‘ve only used righty scissors (in my left hand of course) for most of my life. No problem. Though I did have a hard time doing precision cuts because the blades are the wrong way around and I couldn‘t easily see where I was cutting. But otherwise, no problem.
But then I switched to lefty scissors a year ago. After a bit of getting used to and re-learning how to use scissors it is such a difference! Give us more lefty scissors!! That will result in happier people — and happy customers.
