For those of you who want a new perspective on creating a #writingsystem for your #conlang, I suggest looking at @tlacamazatl 's talk at this year's #LCC10. He gives some background on what might influence a writing system (i.e. geography, economics, political infrastructure et al). It has definitely given me ideas to chew on.
