A weather station near Eugene Island, Louisiana recorded a peak gust of 169 km/h around the time when #Hurricane #Francine made landfall. Air pressure there bottomed out at 976 mb.

#Francine is now a tropical depression with maximum winds of 55 km/h. It is forecast to move toward Southern Illinois over the next 36 hours and then fizzle out around there this weekend.

The storm peaked at 155 km/h wind and a minimum pressure of 972 mb. The #hurricane made landfall at its peak wind intensity, which is category 2 on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
