DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK: At 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Edouard was located near latitude 29.4 North, longitude 93.3 West. Edouard is moving toward the northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue through early Wednesday. On the forecast
track, the center of Edouard is forecast to reach the northwestern Gulf Coast within the warning area later today and move inland over southeast Texas tonight.

Data from the Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters indicate that maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. or west-northwestward motion is expected through tonight, followed by a turn toward the west-southwest on Friday. On the forecast track, the center of Bertha will move near or along the Louisiana and upper Texas coasts through this afternoon, and then move farther inland into Texas this evening and tonight.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected today, and Bertha is forecast to maintain tropical storm intensity up until it reaches the upper
Texas coast later today. Bertha is expected to dissipate inland over Texas by tonight or Friday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles (260 km) mainly to the southeast of the center. The National Ocean Service station at Eugene Island, Louisiana, recently reported sustained winds of 39 mph (62 km/h) with a wind gust of 47 mph (76 km/h). An oil platform southeast of the center of Bertha recently reported sustained winds of 56 mph (90 km/h) at an elevation of 102 ft

At 400 AM CDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Bertha was located near latitude 29.0 North, longitude 92.2 West. Bertha is moving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h). A generally westward
or west-northwestward motion is expected through tonight, followed by a turn toward the west-southwest on Friday. On the forecast track, the center of Bertha will move near or along the Louisiana and upper Texas coasts through this afternoon, and then move farther inland into Texas this evening and tonight.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected today, and Bertha is forecast to maintain tropical storm intensity up until it reaches the upper
Texas coast later today. Bertha is expected to dissipate inland over Texas by tonight or Friday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles (260 km) mainly to the southeast of the center. The National Ocean Service station at Eugene Island, Louisiana, recently reported sustained winds of 39 mph (62 km/h) with a wind gust of 47 mph (76 km/h). An oil platform southeast of the center of Bertha recently reported sustained winds of 56 mph (90 km/h) at an elevation of 102 ft
(31 m).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).

Maximum sustained winds remain near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Some slight strengthening is possible later today, followed by gradual weakening through the middle of this week.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km) from the center.

At 700 AM CDT (1200 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Two was located about 210 miles southeast of Mobile, Alabama. The depression is moving toward the northwest near 3 mph (6 km/h). A slow northwestward motion is expected during the next day or so, followed by a turn toward the west-northwest or west. On the forecast track, the depression will move near or along the northern Gulf coast during the next several days. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast, and the depression is
expected to become a tropical storm later today.

STORM SURGE: The combination of storm surge and the tide will cause normally dry areas near the immediate coast to be flooded by rising waters moving inland from the shoreline.
