This seems like such a wild story to me. But it's part of a troubling trend. More and more, we're seeing state lawmakers undermine local officials, and local officials undermine voters. Every time a governor or a city council overturns a ballot initiative and a local official gets removed from office, we inch closer and closer to full-blown dysfunction.
