I bought oil to do an oil change in my car, and the price has shot up! I paid £120 just for 10 litres of oil, and it’s only because I have some unused oil left over from the last change that it’s not more! (My car takes 11 litres).
I dread to think what a dealer would charge.

Over the last week we've set the first step in setting up the local Land Rover Owners Club Salland. This, after I haven't been a member of a club like this, since we've moved back from #Northampton over twenty years ago! As their wasn't one locally and the national one is not like the down to earth ones, I recall from the UK, I felt, that I had to start one myself:

My 1973 Land Rover Series 3 109.
This image is circa 2010. I still have the truck; it has been sitting in my garage since about 2013. I have owned it since 2003. On my list of many things to work on, fully registered and road legal, though sitting on a PNO at the moment.

#PhotoOfTheDay is "Land Rover drivetrain field maintenance" as demonstrated at Overland Expo 2012 by the very talented Land Rover team led by Duncan Barbour and consisting of a group of Camel Trophy veterans.
These guys used logs, rope and barrels to create a section of offroad driving course, their "booth" and show area, and more. Even an improvised pontoon bridge.

I went out to the garage this evening, turned on the lights, and saw a bat flying in circles around the Land Rover.
This of course is now going to be in my origin story, of a very slow, noisy, super-hero who fights crime using a mixture of hope, iron oxide and the ability to easily find a good supply of after-market parts.
(The bat was ok. I turned off the lights, opened the roller door, and he sped off, no doubt in search of a lights-behind-the-grill Series 1)
