Kolmisenkymmentä vuotta sitten oli miehen kanssa tarkoitus osallistua satukirjakilpailuun. Mies kirjoitti ja minun piti kuvittaa, mutta aikapula iski ja kilpailuun osallistuminen jäi. Elämä tuli väliin ja taidehommat unohtuivat pitkäksi aikaa.
Vuonna 2016 mies kuoli. Satu löytyi myöhemmin hänen papereistaan ja lupasin lapsille, että vielä teen siihen heille kuvituksen.
Ja nyt, äkkiä tänä keväänä, olen päässyt vauhtiin! Inspiraation herättely otti aikansa, mutta nyt näyttää siltä, että minusta tulee omakustannejulkaisija ja lapset (jotka eivät ole olleet lapsia enää vuosiin) saavat joululahjaksi isänsä kirjoittaman ja minun kuvittaman satukirjan.

Käytiin katsastamassa Tuusulassa Taiteilijakoti Erkkolan näyttely Toden tuolla puolen. Mukana viisi suomalaista satukuvittajaa ja originaalitöitä noin sadan vuoden takaa. Suosittelen lämpimästi.
