#Karak: as a kid, I had a #boardgame called #Dungeon. Karak is MUCH better! Heroes are better balanced, the game is not as fatal/frustrating. It's good-natured and adventurous. The illustrations are cute, easily suitable even for younger children. For a game which is basically pure luck, this is all very good! My gripe: the duels relocate one player against their will. Plus, the game follows avalanche logic. Early luck wins the game. Recommended!

Nie każdy zamek krzyżowców należał do templariuszy jak niektórzy sądzą;-) Karak w Jordanii był siedzibą świeckich lordów Królestwa Jerozolimskiego i jedną z najważniejszych twierdz kontrolujących szlak między Syrią a Egiptem.
To stąd Renald de Châtillon napadał na karawany, prowokując Saladyna do wojny. Po zdobyciu zamku w 1188 roku twierdza nie przestała żyć – przez kolejne stulecia rozbudowywali ją Ajjubidzi i Mamelucy. Dziś jej kamienne korytarze nadal robią ogromne wrażenie.
Jedyne czego żałuję to tego, że była to zorganizowana wycieczka a nie samodzielne szwendanie się jak zazwyczaj i nie mogłem eksplorować tego obiektu tak długo jak bym chciał. A podziemi do łażenia są tam chyba kilometry;-)

#Karak II - I can't say I'm fully convinced by this #boardgame yet. Played four times so far. Material is very good. The heroes seem well balanced (unlike the first game). But I find the heroes become very powerful quite quickly, which makes the repeated and rather fiddly hunt for resources rather routine as the monsters don't provide much of a challenge anymore. Even before the second level tiles appear, it feels a bit like all are just waiting for the dark general to finally appear. Let's see.

New heroes. The "listening ahead" mechanic is a bit awkward to handle (one player secretly looking at drawn tiles). I like that they tried to make the dungeon itself more interesting with special tiles. Torn on the duel aspect. It warps players through the dungeon. It can balance, but usually just makes strong players stronger. Overall worth its money.

Bought the #boardgame #Karak. It is essentially a monster & loot simulator like classic (simplified) D&D. Seems fun, though of course highly dependent on luck. A good roll early on gives you a +3 axe, and you'll breeze through the rest of the game. Also, the Seer character has significant advantages as far as I can see so far. Well, no big deal. It's adventurous, highly replayable and kid-approved.

Played #Karak II with my 8 & 10 year's old boys and it was a blast! They loved first version and could not wait for second. I will always be of an opinion, that this game is best first dungeon crawler for kids! Such a fun!
