Hanging out at @gitnationorg #JSNation in Amsterdam. They have the most coffee stations of any tech conference I've been to!
😼👍👍 -
As usual the Vuejs//Berlin meetup is community partner of #JSNation! We got a ticket to give away. If you want it, let me know and you'll participate in the raffle!

I had such a great time at #JSNation this year! Huge thank you to my fellow MCs Scott Tolinski, Phil Nash, and Alba Silvente Fuentes, and GitNation's Lera Chizhik!

@slightlyoff FWIW, when I introduced myself at the beginning of my talk and said I'm "tomayac" essentially every on the Internet except Twitter, I got spontaneous applause. #JSNation

A sad and troubling impression from #jsnation and #reactsummit was that a huge fraction of the frontend community is happy to drink at the nazi bar. They don't even seem to feel embarrassed about posting on xitter. 🤦🤦🤦

Again sitting outside at #jsnation Maybe an interesting conversation will be had; maybe I'll just digest my hamburger.

Super relieved that eventually all of my live demos at my #JSNation talk "AI Right in the Browser With Chrome’s Built-in AI APIs" worked. Here are the slides with links to all demos: https://goo.gle/jsnation-built-in-ai. (Photos courtesy of @tunetheweb.)

The conference has only just started, and I've already heard multiple references to "web" features that were introduced "by the Chrome team".
Folks, if the web is a Google product, it will eventually end up at killedbygoogle.com.

At #jsnation . Because I haven’t been at a conference for days.
-
Continuing my scheme of showing up at JavaScript conferences and not talk about JavaScript at all.
Still need to convince managers why accessibility pays off, in actual ‘managerial’ tongue?
Come ‘n steal my talk at #jsnation remote this afternoon.

As I head off from Amsterdam back to my k-pop dream factory recording studio, here's the opening song from the #jsnation conference yesterday https://brucelawson.co.uk/2024/tc39-the-song/

Slides from my talk at #jsnation about privacy:
1. Why and how we should remove GDPR popup
2. Why Local-First is next big thing (including for businesses) and what architecture we need for it
3. What are the differences of privacy outside the US -
Nice presentation by @sitnik_en on user privacy an local-first web apps.
I liked the movie/book references, mainly George Orwell's 1984 which was used as an app PIN for law enforcement "security checks". #jsnation -
On my way to #amsterdam for #JSNation / #ReactSummit
-
The second day of #jsnation fully remote around the world. Enjoy all together
-
Attending #JSNation Day 2 in the train from Amsterdam back home. 🚂
-
Never been in Amsterdam as a tourist, but the hangout day following #JsNation is a great excuse to do the touristy stuff
-
So in case you think #Mastodon will replace #Twitter in the (commercial) tech bubble: From thousands of participants, there where 11 different people tooting from the world's biggest JS and React conference. Eleven. #ReactSummit #JSNation
