I just watched the #movie #September5 (2024) about the death of 11 #Israeli #athletes killed in terrorist hostage taking that went wrong at the 1972 #Munich #Olympics.
According to #Fandango, the movie is already out of the theaters & is only available to be streamed.
It plays like an documentary. Very little live footage is shown because #ABC the only network to cover the event as it occurred really had no access beyond distant shots & on the scene reporting.
So, the movie is mainly about the behind the scenes event of the ABC Sports team taking over the reporting of a major political event -- the things they got right & the things they got wrong in the process -- & it is more interesting from this #TV #journalistic perspective than any other.
I'd give it a 6 out of 10 but it's not going on my DVD buy list.

The #NewYorkTimes devotion to the horse race is at least consistent, if a waste of #journalistic resources many of us bemoan regularly. Sadly, so is the paper's willingness to be manipulated. Instead of weighing news value and vetting for accuracy and context, the NYT can be counted on to simply regurgitate what candidates say each day in headlines that get a lot more attention than fact-checks after. Better #journalism would keep the daily trail in context and look harder at substance #USPol
