Los premios son lo que son. Se viven en el momento, se agradecen y sigues con tus mierdas. Sin pompa ni hipérboles. Quiero decir: si no se dan o van para otra persona está bien. Lo fundamental es pasar página pronto.
Me apena cuando la gente joven se queda con el boato de las alfombras rojas o los escenarios históricos abrasados por luces y decoración. Son excepciones y suelen durar poco. Sin embargo, se quedan con lo extraordinario.
Cuesta llegar alto y mantenerse. Quedarse abajo o en cumbres medias es perfectamente habitual y válido.
Con un merecido Grammy a Artista Revelación, se dijese lo que se dijese entonces, ¿qué haces con apenas veinte años? Canciones. Ninguna mala.
Desde que salió, en 2019, en mi lista de reproducción suena Ready, el pop reggeazado de Alessia Cara. Algo querrá decir esto.
En febrero saca Love & Hyperbole del que conocemos dos temas y la desafortunadilla portada (ni comparación con la de In the meantime).
(Isn’t It) Obvious es una canción bien que deseo esté por debajo de la media del disco. Si fuese un cedé sería ese track que escuchas sin más porque no te desagrada como para saltarlo. En la promo han vendido como su mayor virtud el solo de guitarra a modo de outro a cargo del feat de John Mayer. Antes, lanzó Dead Man.
La del tipo fenecido es una canción chachi. Alessia frasea con una cadencia que le sienta de fábula, de nuevo, como en 2019, rozando la magia del reggae, sobre una batería que aporta el hechizo a un tema cuyo primer estribillo ya ha terminado en el primer minuto, ¡con una trompeta!
Y es que Dead Man es eminentemente orgánica al tiempo que pegajosa como una masa melosa, labor que subraya el posestribillo segundo extendido con dadadás ultrapop con los que acabará; eso sí, antes de ese último coro un puente instrumental de banda sonora de cine negro.
A favor de otro Grammy. Y de ninguno más.
