I lived in Brooklyn (Pratt) from 1980-83. Back then, we said "May Day is Jay Day." we would congregate in Washington Square Park in the Village, the Yippies would pass out joints, and we would walk up 5th Avenue smoking them. (with a police escort!) We always stopped at Trump Tower to give the owner a one finger salute.
