I FULLY ADMIT this is me "broadcasting my ignorance" and I am TAKING A SHORTCUT by crowd-sourcing an answer… but I already have a gazillion similar questions / "research projects" on my plate and maybe someone can just TELL me if I'm crazy or not… (as my shitty ex-husband used to say, "what's that [you being crazy] got to do with the current topic of conversation?" ha)
Ok so "The Manchurian Candidate" 1962 starring Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey, Angela Lansbury, Janet Leigh, etc…
Are there multiple "cuts" or versions floating around out there?? Because although YES I frequently watch (and especially re-watch) movies in the background - I'm pretty sure I've PAID ATTENTION the whole way through this one at least once (c'mon, it's Frank, and the man could legit dramatic act as well as he could sing) but maybe I mis-remembered or just FORGOT…
I just watched the version available for free on Pluto and it's… different than I remember? Like certain scenes - I recognize some dialogue but the scene is longer, or mostly the same dialogue but it's a different "scene" setup / stage altogether, or maybe some stuff is out of sequence from what I remember…?
It could just be a time / memory issue on my part. And knowing when alternate takes / cuts / edits of CLASSIC HOLLYWOOD movies (esp. Frank's - again, c'mon!) exist is usually my area of expertise - but damn I've just got too many other silly questions on a million back burners already… So, embarrassed as I am to say I DON'T KNOW, can someone clear this up and "un-gaslight" me one way or the other about this one?

📽️ In Forgotten Lady (Columbo, 1975), fading film star Grace Wheeler-Willis, played by Janet Leigh of Psycho fame, is desperate for a return to the limelight. Her path is blocked by her husband, Dr Henry Willis (Sam Jaffe), who won’t put up the money for a new stage musical - until she removes the obstacle by murdering him and making it look like a suicide.

After a longer break I continue with #Columbo. Season 4 doesn’t seem to be physically available anywhere, so I continue with Season 5. The first episode #ForgottenLady shows the series at its best. Great performances from #PeterFalk and #JanetLeigh, and once again amazing scenes shot in a single take. Moreover, the episode has a unique ending in the entire series. #Noirvember #filmnoir Act of Violence (1948) belongs to the crazy WW2 vet noir sub-genre. Lots of angst, moral ambiguity and self-pity. An emotional roller-coaster ride and it’s a full-blooded excursion into the noir depths.
