@rarepublic @FreakyFwoof Hopefully you'll find plenty more music where that came from. I post quite a bit from my #Jamulus sessions, from stuff I do on youtube with others, and just random compositions of my own occasionally.

Had a quick test run on Jamulus with my brother. It seems pretty good. Feels a bit cunbersome to have multiple client instances if you have multiple instruments, but I'm looking forward tongicing it a proper go.

I've been playing on Jamulus for several years. Latency can be a problem, but the issue is greatly reduced by wearing over-the-ear headphones so that you don't hear your in-the-room sound, but only the sound returning from the server. It's surprising, but your fingers start to play ahead so that the sound blends in with the other musicians. Musicians in orchestras have to deal with as much as 40ms of latency across the group.

As a result, made some fantastic friends, went to meet them, toured with them around Belgium three years in a row (but not this year) but friends for life as a result. Came up with original material, tons of compositions. It saved me from going absolutely crazy during pandemic. https://jamulus.io

I've made lots of musical friends around North America while playing online using Jamulus and Jamkazam.
There was a small hiccup when Windows 10 support ran out and my MOTU interface driver wouldn't work on Windows 11, but I managed to sign up for the 1-year extended coverage for Windows 10, so I'm back online again!

#AudioMo Day 29: Jona's New Drums.
A quick jam in which Jona, our drummer tests out his new Roland kit, and Alf the bassist and myself try out random chords to see where we go, having no real idea beforehand. We do this a lot and it's great fun to see if we're on the same page or not.

#AudioMo Day 19: Last night on #Jamulus, our drummer had a long delay for some reason, so while he restarted all the things and tried to solve it, I jumped on drums.
Martin (guitar from NL) and Alf (Bass from UK) make up the current trio.
I was using addictive Drums 'Vintage Dead' kit which was ultra-dry, and playing on a Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S61 MK3 keyboard. -
I use both of these services regularly. You can get reasonably low latency if the other musicians aren't too far away and provided you plug into your router with an ethernet cable rather than WiFi.
Jamkazam has more features, but is a paid service. It's not expensive and it's easy to pause or change your subscription depending on your use.
Jamulus is free,. It's server based, so low latency depends on having a server in a nearby city, but it's more stable.

Thanks again to the developers of Jamulus and Jamkazam - It's been great for practising and jamming with my folk and bluegrass friends, as well as meeting and playing with acoustic musicians from all over North America. I'm thinking of starting an old time fiddling jam in the Toronto area.

It's been years since I rolled up my sleeves and dug deep into reducing latency in my audio system, since I rarely need to worry about it. But I've been trying out #Sonobus (which my autocorrect likes to call "Donahue") and #Jamulus, and trimming it down to the wire locally appears to be really all you can do. Although I found the bottleneck in the internet.

Le test grandeur nature de ma nouvelle instance Jitsi auto-hébergé "at home" sur un Raspberry Pi4 8Gb RAM sera pour la réunion de bureau du #SCASB de vendredi soir.
Autre test, à deux, cette après midi avec mon copain musicien.
Il faut qu'on arrive à faire fonctionner son interface audio Presonus iTwo avec la visio.
Attention, ça fonctionne, mais hors utilisation avec un séquenceur multipiste (ou Jamulus) seule la première entrée est utilisable. -
