My oldest son Ryan would be 40 on 1 June had he not been KIA in Iraq on 1 August, 2006. As much as I look forward to the coming of the season of warming temps and pleasant evenings like this one on deck, there’s also time to think about stuff. This tune is for my boy and for anyone out there in the Fediverse and Mastodon who’s lost someone close for whatever reason well before their time. I feel ya.

I took this day, 1 August, off; since 2006, when my oldest son Ryan was killed in action in Iraq, it’s just been one of those days where it’s quite difficult to think about much else.
