My stack is #InfinitePainter / Sketchbook supported by utilities like Photoshop on #Android. On Windows it's #GIMP and #Irfanview with some inputs from Fractal Explorer.

And I just remembered #Irfanview. Most people don't know what it is and some #artists might even laugh at me but they have not explored that amazing tool. It is a legit #art and #production tool. You can make its viewer show the #space better by controlling the background fill. Boop boop. 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

I like this one enough that I will work on it again. This was done in #GIMP and #Irfanview. Infinite Painter takes me well beyond. (It is a HUGE deal at $12!) A #stencil is so superior to a #mouse, and #InfinitePainter surpasses GIMP no problem. Tools matter. Leonardo didn't paint with a brick! 😹😹😹

#Irfanview helped me explore #motion a lot. It's amazing how many things can be done with that utility. My #art tools until the last year and a half were primarily GIMP, Irfanview, and a '90s fractal generator I run in a Win7 VM. Now my main platform is #InfinitePainter. Other tools are feeds.

#MissKittyArt babble I wasn't a brush first girl. I was a fractal first girl. And then I learned how to do some glass. And then I was a filter first girl. LOL. And I am totally built by #Irfanview. That wasn't designed as an art tool. It was designed for #commercial #production. I learned so much.

#MissKittyArt Babble I have a finishing app on #Windows and on Android. For me, #Irfanview is essential on Windows. I can't believe how much I use that. #Gallery on #Android. Main function I use besides a signature is the manual controls. I use filters, but I count on #manual controls to #finish.

Can you recommend a good image viewer with simple edit functions like IrfanView for Android?
My Xiaomi updated their image viewer into a complete garbage with lots of shitty useless AI crap and I can't even erase parts of the image any more.

I rarely use Windows, but whenever I encounter a Windows computer, it usually has #PuTTY (https://putty.software) and/or #Irfanview (https://www.irfanview.com/) installed.
These applications have been around for more than 25 years (PuTTY is now already at version 0.83), are still maintained, and still feature the same look and feel as 25 years ago.
I just find this amazing.

@JamisonAlexander Yeah, that Windoes 10 debacle is probably gonna be a huge boost for #Linux
I suspect it will probably backfire pretty badly on #Microsoft once people are given an unavoidable incentive to realise they can do without it.
If only Irfan Skiljan would rewrite #IrfanView for Linux, I could nearly make the switch; although I'd probably have to keep a #Windows box for MS Digital Image Suite because I'm a Luddite and I have never understood #Gimp.
