It looks like upcoming competition from the #Kymco #Ionex has forced #Gogoro to be more reasonable & offer home-charging stations for their electric scooters. This is a HUGE win for customer fairness.

It was shaping up to be a VHS vs. Betamax type of battle (or Android vs. Apple), & #Gogoro was Betamax (or Apple). A week after the #Ionex was announced, Gogoro announced a plug-in home charger. As the Ionex gets closer to being released, Gogoro is scrambling to make deals. But, they're still not trustworthy yet because we don't know how controlling they are with their licensing. We need 2 battery standards to keep both of them honest. #MonopoliesSuck

We need competing batteries. #Gogoro is too much like Apple in arrogantly trying to go proprietary. #Kymco announced they were going to open their #Ionex platform up to other manufacturers, & it looks like Gogoro is being forced to play nice with others. I like their battery-swapping tech, but I do not trust their CEO at all. We need something to counterbalance his ego.
