I friend of a friend was this year on a motorcycle trip to china. The group needed some repair. In a bigger city it was easy to get spare parts, because is is forbidden to drive motorcycles older then 13 or 15 years. So there where plenty of old motorcycles to exploit parts from. Perhaps the law fixes it.

I always thought that Taiwan was the only country where you could simply hot-swap batteries from battery-powered vehicles (keyword: Gogoro). Today I learned that the Chinese car manufacturer NIO is already rolling out their battery swap stations for cars in Europe, including one near Leipzig.

Last week these appeared on the roller doors of the scooter maintenance shop where we get our #Gogoro maintained and the owner hasn’t been back since. The posters are all still there, along with some rotting watermelons that were thrown at the place…

Having the #Gogoro key in #AppleWallet on iPhone and Watch continues to be super useful and convenient.
Being able to just walk up to it and tap your Watch against it to unlock it is fantastic and delivers on the promise of the tech!
The teams at Gogoro and Apple have done a great job with #NFC keys. Everything works perfectly and is super easy: creating the key in the app, it appearing on all devices, sharing it with someone else, etc. Flawless 👍✨

Gogoro has added support for NFC keys in the latest version of the app on iOS 17, so instead of using the physical key card, remote fob or Bluetooth, you can add the key to your iPhone and Apple Watch and use it as an Express Pass.
