  1. There is a lot of #enshitification out there. The latest concerns a toot conversation that was interesting enough for me to pursue somewhat but in order to do so I needed to read articles published on a site. And I had issues with its #Cookies and #Privacy Policy.

First I was presented with a cookie message which I could only get past by ‘accepting’ the site’s policy. There was no ‘Opt Out’ or ‘Decline’ options available and the message could not be removed from the screen (making reading anything there laborious and frustrating.

Second, the privacy policy meant they collected a lot of personal information, browsing information as well as device info. I thought it #InvasiveInfoCollection

Third they would not guarantee privacy when collected data is sent oversease. Aka: To the #US ! And other partners?

No thanks… not ever… Discussion exited.
If your site is designed to inform the public or render service to the public, then take a leaf out of many independant news outlet, make you content available free of any information hoovering. If you take donations from the public link to another page with the minimum #InfoSuction required please.
