Intrusion (2021)
A couple who has just moved to a small town falls victim to a burglary. Traumatized, the wife begins to suspect those around her.
Freida Pinto (Hindi: फ्रीडा पिंटो) is an Indian actress, TV host, and model who gained widespread recognition for her leading role in the film Slumdog Millionaire (2008), which won eight Oscars.
I’ve noticed that this movie wasn’t a hit. At least, not the success it deserved. I’m going to bump up its rating, because it’s far from bad. I’ve probably already seen it three times—that’s how much I like it!
In my opinion, Adam Salky did a great job directing, with his camera panning and tilting as the female lead is confronted with a new dramatic revelation.
Freida does a great job in this film. She has a really good role. Robert John Burke plays her husband, and I think he’s fantastic. His performance may be understated, but he doesn’t need to overact to get a message across. He can play someone who’s very cold, yet expressive. I think he’s perfect for this role.
Otherwise, I also appreciate Logan Marshall-Green as the detective, but especially Megan Elisabeth Kelly, who plays the victim and is absolutely stunning in this small role. I would have loved to see her on screen even more.
I’m not going to say, “Ahhh! Finally, an interesting thriller—it’s been a while!!!” because I’m pretty easy to please, and there are actually quite a few movies on Netflix that I’ve enjoyed, even if I like to pretend otherwise sometimes! A good script, plenty of suspense, and actors who all hold their own. This is a far cry from the endless flops featuring unremarkable, uncharismatic teens that we’ve been fed for quite some time… even if, once again, not all of them are bad or worth throwing away.
I’ve read some conflicting reviews, and that’s always interesting—not to mention fun! The first one: “Oh! What suspense! Personally, I loved this movie!! The ending is wild, and yes, I recommend watching this with a good pillow in hand, because it’ll give you a bit of a scare!” A pretty cute comment!
Followed by: “I was a bit skeptical going in, but in the end, it’s a good movie with some nice suspense, even if you figure it out after half an hour. Just a little disappointed by the ending, which leaves you wondering if there’ll be a sequel.” A sequel? Really?? Everyone sees what they want to see, right!!!
And finally: “I disagree with the other reviews! This movie has a superb ending that I personally didn’t see coming at all.”
As for me, I’m easily captivated. I’m not the type to try to guess what’s going to happen. I just let myself be carried away, lulled, thrilled, and entertained. I can’t imagine myself as a detective solving mysteries. I write my reviews in my head while watching, simply asking myself whether it works or falls flat.
A relatively enjoyable feature film to watch. For once, it’s not too far-fetched! There aren’t any dead people coming back to life, injured people running super fast, or people falling two stories onto their backs only to get right back up. In short! Pretty short, pretty fun! I’m one of those who highly recommends it!

L’Intrusion (2021) 🇫🇷

How Can We Prevent AI Models From Cannibalizing Themselves When Human-Generated Data Runs Out?
