Don’t Let #Congress Decide What We’re Allowed to Read Online
The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) is back
To avoid liability, platforms will over-censor. When forums or support groups get deleted, it’s not just teens who lose access—we all do. #KOSA will also push services to adopt invasive #AgeVerification , handing private data to companies like Clear or ID.me.
Lawmakers should reject KOSA. Tell your Senators to vote NO.

WOW! ID.me (now required to login to the IRS website) may use your personal information for the purposes of ads.
That's weird, but initially, they said they would never share your data! Except, apparently... for the purposes of ads!
Again, fuck you very much!

The ID.me Privacy Policy is discusting. The U.S. Government has no legitimate right to collect this amount of personal information and then combine it with information that is collected through other data collectors and aggregators.
FUCK YOU!

Good news for a change in the #privacy realm:
IRS says it w/abandon #biometrics/#facialrecognition requirement for their website.
Great example where speaking out can make a difference. See full story:

CEO of ID.me now caught lying?
First saying only use 1: one" - (check against your own picture).
Now LinkedIn post declares they DO share you against databases.
Many of these (Like #Rekognition they had talk with!) may evolve in subjective + discriminatory ways w/patents on "flagging suspicious people" sharing those faces w/customers of said databases.

ID.Me Biometrics company is swallowing agencies - requiring mobile device facial video scans.
Denying unemployment is one of their new ideas.
Big catch: IRS filing management online will now require you to do a video face scan.
What if your mobile device isn't compatible? - example problem created by an Android/iphone world we buy into.
It couldn't happen without it.
