Dzisiaj byliśmy u weta zelektryfikować jamniczki i zaktualizować im bazy wirusów. Takie maleństwa, a takie silne. I ząbki mają ostre. Ma ktoś kawałek smoczej skóry? Przyda się za rok.

It turns out we had a forest fire two days ago and nobody noticed. Two days ago in the evening one of the electric phases went off. Power came back on the next day (yesterday) in the early afternoon and the crew showed up at our neighbor's place to check if everything was fine. Apparently it was. Today in the afternoon #IdąPsięta, our dogs, went on a walk near the power lines and I as I came back from work I learned that there were some signs of a fire – some underbrush and grasses were burnt. I called a park ranger, he called a volunteer fireman who drove to our place. I hopped in and showed him where the fire had burned. It was a much larger area than I expected. The forest is fucking dry so this was either an idiot or twigs that rested on the wires. I quickly connected the dots and came to the conclusion that power utility technicians smoke done cigarette too many. The thing is that it was only after we came back and the fireman drove home that I learned from the neighbour that the technicians told them that they saw signs of a fire when they were checking the lines and trimming trees that grew high enough to touch the wires. But they didn't tell anyone else, they didn't check the ground for any smoldering. Right now I don't know how the fire started, I started doubting my ability to quickly connect dots, and I'm fucking tired. Also, although I did take pictures, I am unable – for technical reasons – to post them. Oh, and a Park Ranger came late in the evening to dig out the turtle eggs. There were sixteen – much more than the usual dozen. And they were poorly buried, the turtle must have been exhausted. The eggs were under a very thin cover of soil and wouldn't have survived the next three months of sun. Now they'll stay in a safe place until they hatch.

Pietruszka dała się namówić na wyjście przed dom i zrobienie siku, więc jest szansa, że nie zrobi w nocy siku pod moim biurkiem. Dostała w nagrodę baaardzo dużo snaków. Więc pewnie rano pod biurkiem znajdę jej kupę.

We were so happy. We managed to get back home before what looked like a huge storm that would bring us rain. And then nothing. No drop of water to quench the thirst of the scorched earth. Someone nearby is fucking around with weather. At first we suspected a nice witch who lives nearby and hates rain of casting powerful spells. But now our attention shifted to Pietruszka, the smallest of our pack of Polesian wolves. She hates storms and recently started barking more than usual. Could she be doing this to scare the clouds away?
