Danish State Railways #DSB operate a fleet of #Siemens #Vectron electrics, providing haulage i.a. for the #Copenhagen 🇩🇰 to #Hamburg 🇩🇪 #EuroCity trains. These services currently come with #DB #IC1 coaching stock, originally built in the 1970s and 1980s. Future DSB #Talgo sets are supposed to replace these cars one day.

IC 1 nach Zürich
Der IC 1 verkehrt zwischen St. Gallen und Genf, via Gossau – Flawil – Uzwil – Wil – Winterthur – Zürich Flughafen – Zürich HB – Bern – Freiburg – Lausanne. Es kommt vor, dass die Strecke – beispielsweise wegen Bauarbeiten – zwischendurch unterbrochen ist und der Zug beispielsweise nur bis Lausanne oder – wie im Moment gerade – Freiburg fährt.
Was mich am Samstag, als ich von einem kurzen Ausflug nach St. Gallen zurückkam, leicht befremdete: Mein IC 1 fuhr laut Anschrift und laut Fahrplan nur bis Zürich HB. Andere, in den Stunden vor- und nachher, wie auch der IR 13 auf der selben Strecke, fuhren bis Freiburg. Mir sollte es egal sein:

This project seems to be going great.

We started another round of #Interrail on this beautiful, foggy morning. On our way to Italy.
This time, we decided to pay the extra for a 1st class pass. It's about €13 more per travel day, and seat reservation fees seem to be the same as for 2nd class.
As always, when trying to escape Denmark from Copenhagen by train, the first leg is on an old #IC1 from Deutsche Bahn. On this train, 1st class gets us comfier seats, more leg room and a small bag of treats.
