Although I have no time whatsoever for the Republican complaints about the Hunter Biden pardon, I am afraid that this exercise of presidential power will deepen public cynicism about politicians, a cynicism that fuels populist rage.
I also wonder if Karine Jean-Pierre feels that the president has made a fool out of her by granting this pardon after she has repeatedly denied to journalists that it would ever happen. Perhaps, though, she has just accepted it as part of the job of being White House Press Secretary.

By the time the "whistleblower" had any interaction with Burisma officials, both Joe Biden and the Ukrainian prosecutor he supposedly pressured were already out of office.
