  3. @jds glad for the tip. I've done one- and two-night #overnight #campouts with #GirlScouts but none included #longHikes to set up camp. And all were at or right by #establishedCampsites. One was on a night when it got to a degree or so above freezing, and we managed. But it's a #hugeDifference when you have a carload of more than enough #supplies to unload directly at or very near the #campsite and also have people there to help you schlep stuff. And when you're close enough to home that if somebody leaves something crucial behind, there's a possibility you might be able to call someone to bring it. Or if someone gets really sick during the trip, family can come and pick them up within a couple of hours.
