Looking at the pictures, I would classify this standard of housing as ‘emergency accommodation’. While appropriate to that function, they should not be seen as a permanent solution to the housing problem unless the quality of the builds are equivalent to the ‘quality of life’ average Australian expect to have access to.
Again, taking my queue only from photographs of the project, I can only see it being a precursor environment for the kind of quality tenaments barely above that of shanty towns seen in third world countries with all of the social issues these engender.
I question the promotions of these prefabs touted as a sustained public housing solution for Australia (follow the money).
