"Little Red Sweet", Chinese "紅豆" ("Red Beans") is one of those typical slow slice-of-life HK movies with a bit of 80s nostalgia, a bit of family tragedy, a bit of hard-working spirit, stubborn old people, and dealing with a changing city.
Objectively nothing special as a whole, but the acting, cinematography, sound design and soundtrack are always outstanding and personally I love all of these films.

I've finally updated my #HuiBrothers collection from abysmal Universe #DVD to #Bluray. Sad that there is no usable German (horrible dubbing and insufficient subtitles) and no #Eureka / #88Films version (yet?) so us Europeans must use a codefree player ...

I advised him to make a film like Jacques Tati's “Playtime”, a big arty visual comedy purely on sound stage, with less emphasis on dialogue.
At that point I woke up, leaving me with the question: would Jackie Chan know who Jacques Tati was? Would he be a big admirer or draw a blank?

Struggling single dad Ah-Long (#ChowYunFat) must choose between his happiness & what's best for his son when the boy's well-off mum (#SylviaChang) unexpectedly shows up in Hong Kong after a 10-year absence & asks to take her son to live with her in the US.
