"Now, with her status expired, she said she and her partner have a plan in place should she be detained."
“When my card expired, I gave him my lawyer’s information, and basically told him ‘If you’re not hearing from me, call my lawyer and try to figure out what’s going on," she said, "because there’s a possibility that I’ve been detained.’” #HomeIsHere

One #DACA recipient “said all of his previous renewals typically took about four to six weeks. But this time, his status lapsed, and he has had to take unpaid leave for three months from his job at a hospital while he waits for his renewal, which he applied for more than five months ago.” #HomeIsHere

“Jessica Treviño Villegas’ DACA status was still valid when she was deported to Mexico. Her children, who are US citizens, are now navigating life without her.”
“They need me,” the mom said. “It’s very painful for them, because they look at other families who have their parents, and unfortunately they don’t have their parents right now. Like, my youngest daughter just had her [seventh grade] graduation and I couldn’t be there with her.”

"When our parents are detained, deported, or forced into the shadows, we suffer too," said the daughter of a wrongly deported #DACA recipient. "We lose stability. We lose security. We lose precious time with the people who raised us. That’s why a pathway to citizenship is not just an immigration issue. It’s a family issue." #HomeIsHere

“Today, the greatest threat facing immigrant communities is no longer limited to the fate of one program. Across the country, we are witnessing the rise of a broader agenda: mass delegalization.”
"It does not require a single headline-grabbing policy announcement. It happens through legal challenges, administrative decisions, bureaucratic delays, and political attacks that steadily erode protections and benefits." #HomeIsHere

The Trump regime’s mission to end the popular and successful #DACA program, which turned 14 this week, has evolved into a broader effort to make legal status itself easier to take away, writes United We Dream's Juliana Macedo do Nascimento: https://americasvoicecnn.substack.com/p/daca-at-14-what-the-rise-of-mass #HomeIsHere

"Between January and November, 261 #DACA recipients were arrested by ICE, and 86 were removed from the country. I cannot help but wonder if I could become a statistic, another mother separated from her children, despite being American in nearly every way." #HomeIsHere

#DACA "has allowed me to work, pay taxes, build a career, and raise my children in New York City, where I have lived since I was 6," Monica Rodriguez-Aguilera writes on the program’s 14th anniversary. My life as a mother is measured in renewal notices, court decisions, and the awareness that everything I have built can be undone with a single federal policy change." https://www.nydailynews.com/2026/06/15/daca-families-need-some-permanence/ #HomeIsHere

"More than we have ever seen in #DACA’s 14-year history, hundreds of DACA recipients have been unlawfully detained, deported, and disappeared in recent months despite their valid and active status," the #HomeIsHere Coalition said following her return home to the US. Juan Chavez Velasco, another #DACA recipient, was recently abducted while on his way to visit his premature baby in NICU:

“This has been one of the most painful experiences of my life,” said #DACA recipient Maria de Jesus Estrada Juárez, who was abducted by ICE during a green card appointment. “I am grateful to the court for recognizing that what happened to me was wrong and for bringing me home. DHS has already deported some #DACA holders. Maria de Jesus Estrada Juarez was at her green card interview when she was abducted by ICE.
“I followed the rules and showed up to my immigration appointment,” she said. “Instead, I was taken away from my daughter and forced out of the country overnight.” #HomeIsHere
