I’ve been a Freya + owner since 2020 or so (stimulus money when to Schiit and Magnepan).

Freya+ has a neutral voice, inaudible noise, and a subtly different sound in solid state mode (gain 1) and tube mode (gain 4). I can’t really describe what I’m hearing as color and articulation are pretty constant with 6SN7 fitted. Basically, the sense of the space is different with the valve amp feeling a bit more open and roomy.

Schiit Audio has updated its Freya flagship preamp to Freya 2. This update is all new with the following significant changes

Forkbeard remote control
Low and high gain modes
Hollow state and solid state preamps
Switching matrix allows individual selection of gain stage and buffer stage giving 4 modes.
Runs happily without valves fitted
Valves off when stage is not selected for use.
Same gains (0 db and 6 db) available in all 4 lineups.
