#RondoEnergy has begun commercial operations of what it says is the world’s largest industrial heat battery – a 100 MWh system now operating at a Holmes Western Oil facility in #California. The #heatBattery (indeed all storage including #offGrid) filled up for the first time this year! So monthly electricity use stayed up as consumption switched from space heat to heat storage, kinda!

#today in the morning I shall be part of an assessment panel for first year CS students business presentations. This afternoon I really hope to be back on the #research!

(Yesterday was sunny and filled battery and DHW tank and started to refill the #heatBattery and today's sunshine may be enough to fill the #heatBattery - my day has so much pending excitement!)

The #heatBattery pipework has been insulated, the PRV installed, and diversion heat is trickling into the #heat #battery so I think that - given that I seem to have some sort of annoying cold/whatevs - I should test the system FOR SCIENCE and medicinally with a nice hot bath!

#today I had lunch with a friend. I observed an unexpected #DHW tank #pasteurisation cycle in the morning and expected #heatBattery PV diversion in the afternoon, with the PV generation also covering significant #heatPump consumption. I am planning for presenting/MCing some #entrepreneurship stuff at #uni on Wednesday.

#today I am recovering from several busy and social days on the trot, enjoying the morning sunshine, and watching to see if the reconncted #heatBattery gets to do its thing (yesterday it did not quite get the chance)... I may also get to put some temporary lagging on the new DHW pipework.

Hurrah!

Other than some tidying up of cables and insulation of new DHW pipework, I think that the #heatBattery is go!
